About the region

The region is located in the south-eastern of Ukraine. In the north and north-western it borders on Dnepropetrovsk region, in the west on Kherson region, in the east on Donetsk region, but on its southern coast is washed by the Azov Sea.

Administrative-territorial division of the region

There are 20 administrative districts, 5 cities of regional subordination (Zaporozhye, Melitopol, Berdyansk, Tokmak and Energodar), 9 towns of district subordination, 23 towns, 921 villages.

The administrative center is Zaporizhzhya.

Zaporizhzhya region is one of the regions of Ukraine, which form the basis of its economic and intellectual potential.

Zaporizhzhya region economy is in a state of steady growth, the main driving force is an industry.
