Zakarpattya region

The total area of region is 12.800 kv.km. There are 13 administrative districts, 10 cities, including 3 cities of regional subordination (Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Hust), 20 towns and 579 villages in Zakarpattia.

The regional center is Uzhhorod.

It borders on Poland and Lviv region in the north, in the east on Ivano-Frankivsk region, in the south on Romania in the west - on Hungary and Slovakia.

The greater part of the territory is mountains and the highest point of Zakarpattia is Hoverla peak in this mountain range of Chornogora, which rises to 2,061 meters. And the lowest point (101 meter above sea level) is located at the opposite side of the region it is Russian Geevtsy village of Uzhgorod district.

The region has agro-industrial specialization of economy and relatively developed recreational complex.
