Sumy region

Sumy  is situated in the north-east of Ukraine. In the north and east it borders on Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions, the length of frontier with Russia is 498 km. At the border there are three points of admission by rail (Volfino, Pushkarnoe, Zernovo), and five points are by car (Bilopillya, Katerinivka, Ryzhovka, Yunakovka, Bolshaya Pisarivka). In the south, south-east and west Sumshina borders on the Kharkiv, Poltava and Chernihiv.

The region consists of 18 districts, 15 towns (including 7 - regional subordination), 20 towns and 1500 villages.

Economics of the region is a union of the developed branches of manufacturing and mining industries with diversified agriculture.
