Vinnitsya Region 

Vinnitska region in its modern form was established on Feb. 27, 1932 and takes almost 4.5% of the territory of Ukraine. Population density is 69 persons per sq.km.

The region is located in the central part of Right-Bank Ukraine, to south-west of Kiev. The length from north to south is 204 km and from west to east, 196 km. Vinnytska Region is bordered to the north of the Zhitomir region,in north-east - on Kiev, in the east - on Cherkassy, south-east - on Kirovograd, in the south - on the Odessa area and the State of Moldova, in the southwest - on Chernovtsy and Khmelnitska areas. This is the only region of Ukraine, bordering with so many actors (7 regions of Ukraine and State of Moldova).

In the administrative-territorial relation Vinnytsa region is divided into 27 districts, 17 cities, including 4 cities of regional subordination (Vinnytsa, Zhmerinka, Mogilev-Podolsky and Khmelnik), 22 settlements of urban type and 1053 rural settlements. Vinnichchiny population of nearly 2 million people, of whom 53.5% live in rural areas and 46,5% - in cities.

There are such major industries as Vinnytska area: food processing, machinery, light industry, building materials production. Currently, there is a significant increase in the electrical and radio industries, agricultural engineering, and instrument-making.

A characteristic feature of the industrial complex Vinnytska region is industrial - agricultural direction. All major sectors (except electricity) are directly related to the agricultural cycle, starting with the production of machinery and ending to the processing of agricultural raw materials.
