About the region

Mykolayiv region

It is located in the southern region of Ukraine in the Southern Bug River. In the west it borders on Odessa in the north on Kirovograd, in the east on Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk. In the south it is washed by the Black Sea.

The Largest city of the region is the regional center of Nikolayev. The second largest city is Pervomaysk it is the major economic center in north-west of the region. In Voznesensk major branches of industry are related with the processing of agricultural products. Yuzhnoukrainsk is a young city, chiefly its formation and functions are related with the South-Ukrainian nuclear power plant. The smallest city of regional subordination is Ochakov, chiefly it fulfils recreational and agro-industrial functions
